Infochem is a small company that specialises in the modelling of thermodynamics and physical properties. The company was established in 1988 and its main business is supplying its program Multiflash. The company also supplies a wax deposition simulator and it provides consultancy to companies in the oil, gas and chemicals sectors. Currently the company employs 5 people at its office in Central London. There is an opportunity for a additional person to join the team of thermodynamics specialists .

This work is centred on the development of the Multiflash program. It involves a range of activities such as:

• developing and implementing physical property models,
• maintaining and developing phase equilibrium software,
• testing and correcting existing software,
• customer support,
• customer training
• and producing documentation.

From time to time the work will also involve carrying out studies for customers often using the Company’s own software, for example to

• simulate wax deposition in pipelines,
• to predict hydrate dissociation curves,
• etc.

To work with us you need skills in numerical analysis, programming, data analysis and producing reports and presentations from a background in chemical engineering, physics or chemistry, or some similar discipline probably to PhD level. However, a new graduate may also be suitable. An understanding of the basic principles of thermodynamics is essential.
